LITHIA CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE OF SOUTH ANCHORAGE

For the third year in a row,  Lithia Chrysler Jeep Dodge of South Anchorage is sponsoring the Drive for Perfect Attendance program in partnership with Anchorage School Business Partnerships.  Lithia, together with GCI and Subway, provide a package of prizes for students with perfect attendance in an effort to encourage high school students to make it to school every day.

The idea behind Drive for Perfect Attendance originated from Lithia General Manager Troy Jarvis who was motivated by a conversation with Jeannie Mackie, school board president at the time, about the low attendance rates in the district.  Jarvis had also noticed a decline in work ethic, accountability and other entry level workforce skills he was seeing at the dealership; he knew that the habits he valued in his employees needed to be developed at an early age through regular school attendance.

Students in grades 11 and 12 with perfect attendance are entered in a drawing for the year.  The lucky winner drives away with a Jeep Patriot from Lithia and four finalists receive 50,000 Alaska Airline miles from GCI; each quarter a winner is selected from all the students in grades 9-12 with perfect attendance to receive 25,000 miles.

Originally founded in Oregon in 1946, Lithia Automotive Group is a publicly traded company with more than 100 automotive dealerships in 13 states, including nine in Alaska with more than 450 employees across the state.  From the very beginning, Lithia has made it a priority to actively give back to the communities it serves.

As an Alaskan and as an employer, I like to know we can make a difference in important matters like education and the importance of attendance in both school and future employment. We’re proud to be a part of this program and believe we will continue to see positive results for years to come.
